Queen Paola is born Princess Ruffo di Calabria on September 11th 1937 in Italy. She is the youngest of Fulco Ruffo di Calabria and Countess Luisa Gazelli’s children. The Queen spent her youth in Rome where she terminated her studies in classical letters. In 1959 she married Prince Albert of Belgium. In 1993 he became the King of his country under the name Albert II.
